Nissan dealership returning to Industry

A Nissan dealership will open on a long- vacant Industry lot, helping to bring the city's recession-battered auto mall back to life, officials said Friday.

Buena Park Nissan owner Greg Brown purchased the four-acre property and its three-story building on Gale Avenue, which was owned by Superior Automotive Group before it went out, officials said. Brown declined to say how much he paid for it.

After renovating the property and patching up some exterior blemishes, Brown said his new showroom - dubbed Puente Hills Nissan - will open for business Friday with no affiliation to the old owners, who had been in Industry for about eight years.

"We're excited to start serving the customers of the San Gabriel Valley," said Brown, who has owned the Buena Park dealership for three years. "Usually, the news is that a car dealer is leaving town. I think this is a sign the economy is getting better."
